IBEW Local 40 Endorses Jeannine Wisnosky Stehlin for Culver City Council
CULVER CITY, Calif. – Jeannine Wisnosky Stehlin, candidate for Culver City City Council, has earned the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 40.
IBEW Local 40 represents skilled workers in the entertainment industry, including electricians, HVAC technicians, sound technicians, and generator operators, and has represented workers in Hollywood for more than a century.
“I’m incredibly proud to have the support of IBEW Local 40,” said Wisnosky Stehlin. “I come from a long line of union families. My great-grandfathers were union coal miners, my grandparents were union factory workers, and my parents were public-sector union members. I’ve been a proud SAG-AFTRA member for 33 years, and my daughter, a public school teacher, is now the fifth generation of our family to belong to a union. I know firsthand what unions have meant to generations of working families.”
Wisnosky Stehlin has spent decades working in the entertainment industry and currently serves on the SAG-AFTRA Hollywood Local Women’s Committee. Her husband is a member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity.
“Culver City has deep ties to the entertainment industry, and union workers have played an important role in our city’s history and economy,” Wisnosky Stehlin said. “I’m committed to supporting good jobs, workforce development and apprenticeship opportunities, and making sure working people have a voice in the decisions that affect them.”
Wisnosky Stehlin is a small business owner and longtime Culver City community leader who has spent more than 26 years working in and serving the community. Her campaign is focused on quality of life, traffic and mobility, affordability and fiscal responsibility, City and schools working together, safe neighborhoods and emergency preparedness, and transparency and accountability in City government.
The IBEW Local 40 endorsement adds to Wisnosky Stehlin’s growing support from organized labor and marks the second consecutive City Council election in which Local 40 has endorsed her candidacy.
