Heart of LA Democratic Club Endorses Jeannine Wisnosky Stehlin for Culver City Council
CULVER CITY, Calif. – Jeannine Wisnosky Stehlin, candidate for Culver City City Council, has earned the endorsement of the Heart of LA Democratic Club, the first chartered feminist Democratic club in Los Angeles County.
Wisnosky Stehlin co-founded Heart of LA in 2017 and serves as the organization’s President. The club was created to increase women’s participation and representation in politics and to support candidates and policies that improve the lives of women and girls.
“I’m incredibly proud to have the endorsement of Heart of LA,” said Wisnosky Stehlin. “I helped found this club because I believed women needed a stronger voice in our political process and more women needed a seat at the table. Nearly a decade later, I’m enormously proud of the organization we’ve built and the women and leaders we have helped support.”
Wisnosky Stehlin has spent decades working in and serving Culver City, including eight years on the Culver City Cultural Affairs Commission, two years as Chair, and service on the CCUSD Citizens Bond Oversight Committee and numerous community and nonprofit organizations.
Women remain significantly underrepresented in Culver City elected leadership. In the City’s 109-year history, only six women have been elected to the City Council, and two women have never served on the Council at the same time.
“Representation matters,” Wisnosky Stehlin said. “Women make up half our community, and our experiences and perspectives should be represented when decisions are being made about our neighborhoods, our families, our businesses and our future. I would be honored to bring my experience and years of community service to the City Council.”
Wisnosky Stehlin is a small business owner and longtime Culver City community leader who has called Culver City home for more than 26 years. Her campaign is focused on quality of life, traffic and mobility, affordability and fiscal responsibility, City and schools working together, safe neighborhoods and emergency preparedness, and transparency and accountability in City government.
